About
My name is Amber. I grew up competitively dancing but have a real passion for the outdoors. I grew up quite religious, now I don’t attend church, but I’m still trying to keep some spiritual practices. I grew up in America hardly talking to boys and now I am living in Australia with my first real boyfriend.
I know I am not the only one who has made a 180 in various areas of their life. As confident and happy with who we are becoming it doesn’t take away all the fear of the unknown that comes with so much change.

I remember going through many transitional periods in my life where I was growing into a new person. I remember feeling lost, confused, and disconnected from who I was and unsure on where to go from there. I didn’t know how much of me I was consciously displaying to the world or how much of that was just what the world molded me into/what they wanted to see.
I went through some tough times trying to get to know who I truly am and now I would like to help give advice to anyone who feels the same way I did, and sometimes still do. I honestly know most about the teen years to young adult years, but I know that there are more transitions I will go through, learn about, and hopefully get to share my experience and advice on along the way. This blog will talk about anything from personal development, to more life style advice on different things I tried in order to find myself(like surfing, traveling, seasonal work, daily habits and routines…)
Honestly coming up with a meaningful name for my blog was something that I valued a lot. I spent a good amount of time brain storming and asking for a lot of input from family and friends. My younger sister Savana came up with “dragonfly in the fog” and I thought it was perfect.
Here’s why…
As kids, my siblings and I all had spirit animals/bugs that were closely associated with us for one reason or another. The animal my siblings associated me with and that I resonate with is a dragonfly(I think it started because I had a necklace years ago of a dragonfly, and it has stuck ever since).
As for the whole phrase, I such a correlation as well as symbolism. “Dragonflies in the Fog” really connects to the topics I want to write about, and the people I want to write to.
The fog represents the different phases of the unknown in our lives. As we fly in and out of the fog, not knowing up from down, let a lone which direction to go.
Dragonflies symbolize many things, but some of my favorites are transformation, change, adaptability, and freedom. All the qualities necessary to help us out of the fog.

Dragonfly in the fog is a visual representation of how we feel when we are in a transition period. We may be surrounded by many uncertainties, but eventually we will navigate our way out of the fog.

This is YOUR life, you get to make what you want out of it.
You can be a copy of every other girl you know or you can be you.
I hope that I can join you on your journey discovering who you truly are!
